I found a better way to say it! The reason movies with relationships like in Atomic Blonde or Personal Shopper get me so angry is because it’s framing abuse, violence and a cold heart as feminism. Bell Hooks said something about it, about (white) women figuring that if they’re allowed to treat sex and relationships as nonchalantly and violently as men do then they’re equal. Our standard for love shouldn’t be cruelty. Our ideal and representation for wlw shouldn’t be a collection of white women having hate sex. Does that make sense??
